Bio

Born to the warring clan N'ahalaes, Jinn was set on the path of becoming a warlord, but as the winds of fate often change directions, she would find her own destiny take a turn towards unimagined places...

Years afterward the N'ahalaes would say it was their own fault for traveling through the dark forest of Jihal, while some would cite the greedy fingers of mischievous gnomes as the sole source of blame. Either way, Jinn was stolen away from her raiding party, a child barely of three years, and raised among the gnomes as their own.

This adoptive family meant two things for Jinn. First, her warring attributes would be essentially silenced by the peaceful ways of the gnomes. Second, she would learn an affinity for things outside a traditional role for Drow such as kinship with animals and an interest in magic and healing. The conflicts with who she was and who she thought she would be only worsened with time.

Jinn was a solitary child, not just due to her physical differences (her darkened complexion, wild hair and impressive height) but also her quiet demeanor as a creature who was more interested in observing than commenting. Even though the other children avoided her, she grew to love her adoptive parents, who had no children of their own, just a home full of animals. Having the happiness of a home, Jinn never considered leaving, but as the Drow continued to push onto gnome land, her two paths - the one she accepted and the one she left behind - threatened to collide.

To protect themselves, the gnomes had to move into their ancestral underground mines, and with a broken heart, Jinn said goodbye to her adoptive parents, for she was too large to follow. Stuck between living alone and being forced back into the Drow clans, Jinn started traveling and came across an old mage. While he was pleased at first to take her on as a student, once Queen Fortuna's call went out for students he insisted that Jinn join up with the others, as he had decided to volunteer his knowledge and teaching skills for the school. If she went, he promised to continue their lessons there in addition to the new things she would learn. She was reluctant at first, but knew that the Queen's school could help teach her skills that would help her to one day free the gnomes from the oppression of the Drow and allow her to be with her family again.
